The stars of the sea sparkle playfully and seductively on the water surface. Printer Thomi Wolfensberger and artists Markus and Reto Huber have created a striking light effect by printing on holographic paper. The limited prints – measuring 68 by 98 centimetres – were printed on a historic lithographic press.
After that, the print shop Gassmann in Biel used the print as a template for printing Helvetia Insurance's 2017 art card. Klaus Rozsa, a Swiss-Hungarian photographer, documented the creation of Helvetia's 2017 art postcard. This photo documentary on Helvetia Stories creates a bridge between analogue printing traditions and our modern digital world.
Edition Helvetia was instituted by the Art Division in 2016. Last year, graphic artist Daniela Erni created the art print "Abri", which was used as a motif for our first art card. The works of Daniela Erni and huber.huber are showcased in Helvetia's art collection. From 7 September 2017 to 19 January 2018, huber.huber's creations will be exhibited at the Helvetia Art Foyer at Steinengraben 25 in Basel. The exhibition is open to the public every Thursday from 4 to 8 pm.
