Europe is the Group’s second strong pillar. The Specialty Markets segment provides us with global market access in selected niches. In this segment Helvetia offers tailored specialty and reinsurance coverage. The France market unit acts as a focused transport insurance specialist and occupies a strong position in this area as the number two market player.
We have a balanced business mix between life and non-life business plus related services.
Thanks to a strong home market and a profitable presence in selected European countries, we are broadly based. In addition, we are active internationally with a first-rate offering of special insurance products.
Our focus is on private customers as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. In selected sectors (e.g. Occupational Benefits Switzerland or Specialty Lines) we also insure large companies.
We diversify our income streams by establishing new business models such as ecosystems (“Home” in Switzerland, “Health” in Spain) or investment solutions (Helvetia Asset Management).
