Boat insurance. Protection in the water and on land.

Your boat has year-round coverage in the water and on land. When you conclude a contract, you yourself can choose in which waters coverage is to be provided.

Territory A: comprises European inland waterways

Territory B additionally comprises:

• the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea
• the Baltic Sea incl. Kattegat and Skagerrak
• the North Sea south of the Bergen-Wick line
• the English Channel
• the Irish Sea incl. Atlantic waters within the 60 degrees north – 20 degrees west – 25 degrees north lines

Territory C: comprises all waters worldwide

If the owner of the boat changes, the existing contract is automatically transferred to the new owner if:

• the latter does not cancel it within 14 days of the change of owner
• the new watercraft registration certificate is not issued on the basis of a different insurance contract
  

If you register your boat or acquire a flag certificate abroad, the contract automatically ends after 30 days. This rule does not apply to the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Changing your car insurance is very easy and is possible in the following cases:

• On expiry of the contract, taking account of the period of notice
• When you buy a new boat
• When there is a change of owner
• If your insurance company increases the premium for the next year
• After a claim

 If you purchase a new boat, you are required to register it with the Road Traffic and Shipping Office. For this you need a certificate of insurance.
