Private liability insurance provides you with financial cover for any losses caused by yourself – whether through injury to people or damage to property. This also applies to damage you accidentally cause with your e-bike capable of speeds up to 25 km/h.

Damage caused by e-bikes capable of speeds up to 45 km/h or mopeds is not covered by private liability insurance. For e-bikes capable of speeds of 45 km/h or mopeds, you need to go to the driver and vehicle licensing office to get a yellow licence plate with a valid sticker for compulsory liability insurance.
